1. Birth - 1874 or 1875, Between 1874 and 1875, Christiania Twp, Jackson Co, Minnesota, United States. ^{195,6248,6269} Elia Johnson Egge's birth is uncertain. His mother's obiturary (Ingeborg Evenson) says that in 1890 the family experienced sorrow when "...diphtheria claimed the lives of her daughter Ella, age 20, and her son Eli, age 15. This would mean Elia's birth was in 1874. In the book An Illustrated History of Jackson Co it is noted on page 502 (John J Egge, Jr bio sketch) that Elia (written as Eli) was born on 1 Nov 1875. On FamilySearch.org's indexed collection, "Minnesota Deaths and Burials, 1835-1860, there is an entry for Elia's death on 24 Jul 1890 and that he was age 15; this would mean his birth was about 1874. His mother's obit and the book An Illustrated History of Jackson Co are likely the most accurate.
