Ole Evensen

  Research Notes:

Ole Evensen (born 1831) is not recorded in the 1865 Norway Census for Tolga. He isn't recorded in the moving out records (1847-1852 or moving out 1853-1867 nor is there a death record from 1847-1866.

But "Sonmor FT" [Judith A Amundsen] records:
Tolga Farms & Families History (1968) reported " he lived unmarried and died a pauper in 1905.)

3. Residence 1900, 3 Dec 1900, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway. ⁶⁴⁶⁴ Residence: Næsmoen (Evensstuen). Unmarried, born in 1831 in Tolga, living on the farm Næsmoen (Evensstuen) with occupation as "agricultural worker" ( Jordbrugsarbeide). Evensstuen likely refers to Ole's cabin '96 stuen means "cabin".

4. Death - 1906, 30 Aug 1906, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway. ^6461,6465 The Norway Parish Registers: "Ungkarl [single] ... [?] Ole Evensen", born 1831 at Søndmør with Næsmoen as his place of residence at death [basic transcription]. There is a comment on the last column, but I can't make it out. The year recorded on this source page 161 is "1905,1906" with the 5 male deaths in 1906 and 1 female death in 1905 and then 5 female deaths in 1906.

Eystein Eggen in his 1968 book, "Tolga Gards og Slektshistorie" notes on page 556, "He [Ole Evensen] was single and he died in 1905 as a pauper.". Although there are numerous errors in Eggen's book, the year matches with the Norway parish registers; also the resdence of death matches with the 1900 Norway Census.
