The Norway Parish Register [Narbuvoll] "out-migration" record of Jan 1881 is most likely incorrect. The most likely senario is that the family had planned to leave in 1881 but were delayed. It appears that Arne left in 1889 and then his wife Kirsti and 2 daughters left in 1890. They were accompanied by Arne's brother, Julius, and 2 of Arne's sister, Oline and Kirsti.

This cities the New York Passenger Lists, arriving at New York 16 May 1887, from Liverpool and Queenstown, Ire; and does show the above BUT no other identifying information

BUT this record establishes their residence here at Grantsburg as early as 1894

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Migration - 1889, 1889, Tolga, Hedmark, Norway. ^6428,6429 The record for Arne's "Out migration from Tolga Parish (Narbuvoll sogn) for North America" is somewhat questionable since it also recorded is wife, Kirsti Ingulfsdatter and daughter Ingeborg. His name recorded as Arne Evensen Kaasen, born 1854. The reason of the inaccuracy is that the parish priest clearly recorded the family leaves on 2 Feb 1881. However, the parish priest also recorded Arne and Kirsti's daughter, Kirsti, baptism on 2 Jan 1883. Thus the "out-migration" record (1881) is most likely incorrect. The most likely senario is that the family planned to leave in 1881 but were delayed and then left after Jan 1889

It appears that Arne left in 1889 and then his wife Kirsti and 2 daughters left in 1890. They were accompanied by Arne's brother, Julius, and 2 of Arne's sister, Oline and Kirsti.
