General Notes:
Biographical Sketch, Jon Persson (born 1752 or 1755, died 1839)
Jon Persson is my third great grandfather on my Lofgren side of the family (footnote¹). Many of the records record his name as Jon Pehrsson or Jonas Pehrsson. Jon Persson's birth is uncertain. The Husförhör (household records or examination) books both in Vilhelmina parish and Åsele parish record his birth as 1755. However, some researchers record his birth as 24 Dec 1752 at the farm Kubbe (see geni.com data and Kråken data - as of Apr 2023, Kr is not longer available ). Both of these sources then indicate that the parents of Jonas Pehrsson (Persson) were Pehr Larsson Saktmodig (born 1711) and Maria Jonsdotter (born 1730) at Anundsjö parish (recorded in the Sweden Church Records for Anunsdjö parish; at that time, this area was a part of Västernorrrland county). A post by researcher Alex Lundquist on the geni.com data for Jonas Persson notes the discrepancy with the birth dates and notes there is another birth record for a person named Jonas Persson born on 6 Mar 1755 at Själevad parish (Västernorrland); however, his data on this Jonas Persson records a marriage to Anna Olofsdotter, and they had 9 children. And so this person cannot be 'our' Jon Persson.
Is there any evidence that 'our Jon Persson' was born or came from Anundsjö? Olof Petter Pettersson in his book, Old Villages of Vilhelmna (vol 1, page 57 & 58), notes that a person by the name of Jon Jonsson established the first settlement at Sikjonäs and that he was from Sjävled parish. O P Pettersson further notes that by 1797, Jon Jonsson had sold or traded half of the settlement Siksjonäs to Jon Persson from Hacksjö and notes that Jon Persson had come to Hacksjö from Anundsjö parish. Jon Persson had left his place at Sikjonäs to his son Anders Jonsson (this is most likely 'our' Anders Jonsson born 1783). Another source, Sweden Encyclopaedia, states (basic translation by myself and google translate) " In 1785 Jon Jonsson from Själevad parish received a permit to establish a new settlement building in Åsele parish … [he] finally settles on Siksjönäset at Siksjöns southeastern side … Henceforth, the new building called Siksjönäs". I have not found any other references to 'our Jon Persson', our third great grandfather. However, at this point I have not included ancestor information for Jon Persson on my Legacy data, but have some information on my "research notes for Jon Pehrsson document."
Jon Pehrsson (born 1752 or 1754) was married on 7 Nov 1779 to Karin (Carin) Andersdotter (born 1750). Their marriage is recorded at Anundsjö parish in Västernorrland län or county (vol C:3, page 419, 2nd side). This record indicates that Jon Pehrsson was from Uttersjö and that Karin was from Waln, both in Anundsjö parish. I have reviewed some of the Husförhör book pages for Anundsjö parish, starting as early as 1749 but so far have not found either Jon Pehrsson or Carin Andersdotter recorded at these farms/localities [as of 9 Feb 2016]. The earliest record for them is in the Husförhör or Household records book for the years 1778-1780 in Åsele parish, farm Hacksjön (page 172 image 99 vol AI:2 and in the same vol, page 224, image 125 at the farm Siksjonäs). These record Jon Pehrsson (born 1755) along with his wife Carin Andersdotter (born 1750). This record also records their marriage as 1780; however, the marriage records for Anundsjö parish records their marriage as 7 Nov 1779. This Husförhör book records their children as Pehr (1780), Anders (1783), Jonas (1785), (Olof 1789), Lars (1792), and Erik (1795). The year for this Husförhör is 1778-1780 (and on the first page, it is written "år 1781"); however, the children are recorded with the youngest being born in 1795. I haven't been able to understand this discrepancy. Jon Pehrsson and Carin Andersdotter are continually recorded at the farm/locality of Siksjonäs in the Husförhör books for Vilhelmina parish from 1804 to 1839, the year when Jon Pehrsson died.
As I have stated above, there is uncertainty of the exact date of Jon Persson or Pehrsson's birth or the location of his birth. On my Legacy database I have recorded his birth as 1752 or 1755 and that he was likely born in Anundsjö. At this point I have not recorded his parents, since I am uncertain who they were.
Anders Jonsson (1783-1866) is our next direct line ancestor. The exact date and the location of his birth is also not known. A couple of family researchers have recorded that he was born in at the farm Hacksjö in Åsele parish. This is likely correct but the earliest birth records for Åsele or Vilhelmina start with 1786 and so I haven't been able to verify the date and location of his birth. In the Husförhör books his birth is recorded as 1783, with day and month not recorded. Anders lived and worked at Siksjonäs throughout his life. In 1807 he married Sara Andersdotter who was born in 1781. According to the book "Old Villages of Vilhelmina" (vol 1, page 59), in 1838 he had given/sold his farm to his two sons, Jon (Jonas) and Anders in exchange for a lump sum, costs of any debts and an agreement to take care of him and his wife and his parents (Jon Pehrsson and Carin Andersdotter. He died on 2 May 1866 at Siksjonäs. He was a widower for about 25 years since his wife, Sara Andersdotter, had died earlier on 18 Jun 1841.
Anders Jonsson and Sara Andersdotter had 6 children. The oldest was daughter Christina Helena (born 1806). She lived/worked at her parents place, but as early as 1830 she was a servant (piga) at Anders Larsson's place in Nästansjö. Anders Larsson had a son named Lars Joel Andersson (born 1815) and in 1847 she married him. Lars Joel Andersson and Christina Helena had 3 children, with one daughter dying at age 3; one son was Andreas (born 7 May 1848) and the other son was Nils Erik (born 3 Jan 1853).
Jonas (or Jon) Andersson was the oldest son of Anders Jonsson and Sara Andersdotter. He was born around 1808 and lived/worked all his life at Siksjonäs. He was married in 1834 to Christina Andersdotter (born 1803). Jonas Andersson had 6 children, with 1 son dying in infancy and another son dying at about age 15. His other 4 children grew up and lived/worked all of their lives at Siksjonäs. Each were married and had children.
Nils Andersson (born 1810) was the third oldest child of Anders Jonsson and Sara Andersdotter. Nils married Kristina Johanna Andersdotter (born 1801) on 6 May 1838. Kristina had been previously married and she had 5 other children from her previous marriage; these children became step-children to Nils. Nils Andersson and Kristina Johanna Andersdotter had two children. Amelia Carolina was born in 1839 and in 1861 married Erik Petter Carlsson; they had 3 children and they worked/lived at the farm Heligfjell most of their life. Amelia Carolina died in 1915; sometime in the 1890's, many in the family used the surname, Bergström. Nils Andersson's son was Nils Erik Nilsson who was born in 1842. He married Kristina (Stina) Cajsa Mellström in 1870. They lived and worked at the homeplace in Siksjonäs. In 1889 Nils Erik Nilsson and Kristina (Stina) Cajsa Mellström and their four children (Christina Carolina, Erika Albertina Johanna, Anna Katarina Jonata, and Erik Anshelm) emigrated to the US. Nils had obtained a homestead on Sec 17 in Spruce Twp, Roseau Co, MN. Nils and Kristina continued to farm and work in Spruce Twp. Nils died in 1935 and Kristina early in 1912. In the US, the family used the surname Nelson and so Nils was most often recorded as Nels E Nelson. Their son Erik Anshem Nelson (Nilson) continued to farm the home place, likely until his death in 1955. He had not married. I have not been able to find any definitive information on the other children. See my research document "Research notes for Nils Erik Nilsson, 1842-1935" compiled Feb-Mar 2016 for further detail.
Pehr Andersson (born 1817) was the 5th child of Anders Jonsson. Pehr Andersson was married in 1841 to Ingeborg Olofsdotter (born 1815). They had 6 children with one dying in infancy. Pehr Andersson and Ingeborg Olofsdotter lived and worked at various farms in Vilhelmina parish, from Heligfjell to Siksjonäs to Bergbacka. However, I haven't been able to locate the family from about 1857-1886. Pehr Andersson and Ingeborg are recorded at the farm Bergbacka in the Husförhör book for 1886-1896 living with their son, Per Erik Persson (born 1848). Pehr died in 1895 and Ingeborg died in 1892. I have found little information on their children, other than Per Erik Perrson was married in 1879 and had one son, Erik Magnus (born in 1882). They moved from Bergbacka to Vännäs parish (about 25 kms east of Umeå) in 1903.
Erik Andersson was the youngest child of Anders Jonsson (born 1873) and Sara Andersdotter (born 1781). He was born in 1820. In 1846 he was married to Brita Stina Kristoffersdotter (born 1822). According to the information from Roland Tidstrom (see PDF file) it appears that Eric Andersson and Brita Stina did not have any children, but that Jonas Petter Andersson Lindberg (son of Anders Andersson) was a "fosterson" and lived with Erik and Brita Stina. It also appears that Erik Andersson and Brita Stina Kristoffersdotter lived and worked at the farm Hornsjön most of their lives. Erik Andersson died in 1907; Brita Stina died in 1897. Jonas Petter Andersson-Lindberg (born 1854) was married on 11 Apr 1875 to Erika Albertina Edvardsdotter born 10 Jul 1855. They had 6 children and lived/worked at Hornsjön.
Anders Andersson (1814-1886) is our next direct line ancestor, the father of Sara Catharina Andersdotter who was married to Per Erik Löfgren (and who were the parents of our grandfather to Jonas August Löfgren). He was the 4th child of Anders Jonsson 1873) and Sara Andersdotter (born 1781). See his separate Biographical Sketch [12 Jun 2022 - I must have planned to do this, but I don't have this record, nor is it on Anders b 1814 page] .

Coming from Siksjönäs 1791 to Hacksjö, moving back to Siksjönäs 1804. Gatherer of a settlement by Jon Jonsson. [ ?? ] [ according to O P Petterson, re; Siksjonäs ( bottom of page 57 ), a person named Jon Jonsson had a place at Siksjonas. He traded half this place by 1797 to Jon Persson who was from Hacksjö. Jon Persson had come to Hacksjö from Anundsjö parish. ] [Jon Jonsson] swapped the half he had left the settlement in Siksjönäs already in 1797 to Jon Persson Hacksjö. This man had immigrated to Hacksjö from Anundsjö parish. Jon Persson handed over his farm to his son Anders Jonsson. In Hacksjö there is Jonas Persson b. 1755 to Karin Andersdotter b. 1750. In later years they moved in 1804 to Siksjönäs, where his son Anders Jonsson b. 1783, and his grandson Jon Andersson b. 1808 became the owners. The other sons were Per Jonsson b. 1780, Jonas Jonsson b. 1785, Olof Jonsson b. 1789, Lars Jonsson b. 1792, Erik Jonsson f. 1795th When Jon Persson was married on 7 November 1779 to Karen [Andersdotter] from Anundsjö church embankment, he had [as witnesses] settlers from Uttersjö (Björna) and when his first child was baptized in June 1780 he [as witnesses] settlers in Åsele with sponsors from the Näs and Rödvattnet. When he died in 1839 in Siksjönäs it is recorded that he was the son of Per Larsson and Maria, which should refer to settlers Per Larsson Sagtmodig and Maria Jonsdottor in Rödvattnet. But still the birth of the book Själevad record that Jonas Persson was born on 6 of Mar in 1755 as the son of the settler, Per Jonsson Flink from Bringen, which that year included the Uttersjöns settlement. Probably Flink died and his widow remarried Rödvattnet new settler, Per Larsson. It is the only explanation we can give. So then I do not know if he birth was 1752 or 1755. .............................................................. likely this was posted by Alexander Lindquist around 14 Dec 2014 (at this page, the tree is managed by him)
2. This birth record may not be correct

- very difficult to make out the name of the father ... fadran Crons Batz .... [?] [ Kronobåtsman ? ] Pödr ? but maybe Pehr [with some type of accent over the second letter], looks like Sven but could possibly be Larsson ? Sagtmodmig [ fairly clear ] - mother is clear to be Maria Jonsdotter, in Kubba - not overly clear on ancestry, a bit better but not much on Arkivdigital
- no other births for a Jon or Jonas Pehrsson in 1755
