Summary: Svea Syrena Naslund was born 1 Nov 1904, Vilhelmina parish, Sweden. She was the youngest child of Johan Nikalus Näslund [1863-1948] and Lisa Albertine Eliasdotter [1865-1911], and she grew up at the family farm in Nästansjö. In 1922, she decided to emigrate to Canada. For a couple of years she stayed with her sister, Anna [my grandmother].
At some point, around 1925, she moved to Cranbrook, BC and met her husband, Erick Anderson. They were married on 9 Jan 1926 at Fernie, but their marriage indicates their residence at Cranbrook.
I have little information on them. By the 1950s they were living at Sumas or south of Chilliwack BC. Erick was working on a farm that mostly raised hops.
Seva and Erick had one son, Eddie. He was born Edvard. On 22 Jul 1955 in North Vancouver, BC, Eddie married Mary-Louise Cates. Eddie and Mary-Louise had 4 children, and I think they were all born in Vancouver. Later they moved to London Ontario [I believe Eddie was an Engineer with Bell Canada], and then for a while in Montreal. Likely in the early 2000s, Eddie and Mary-Louise moved back to the Vancouver area.
I remember my mom and dad and me visiting Svea and Erick at least once at this farm south of Chilliwack - I was maybe around 10 yrs old. Mom visited Svea and wrote letters, etc. Svea came to Camrose a number of times and once with Erick [see photo from the house at Mom and Dad's farm in Armena. There were a couple times, Svea and Eddie and come to the Camrose. I vaguely remember visiting Eddie and Louise and their children in Vancouver, but it possible this was only from a photo, perhaps that they sent to mom at Christmas.
