a. Jake Langsjoen manuscript (page 8) - Even is not specifically named, but implication is that Even died "while cutting heavy timber for houses..." [ ++ NOTE: need to request the previous page to this 28 Feb 2015 ]
b. Østerdølenes Saga by K G Nilsen, 1938 - my translation under Peder N Langsjoen
- "Mrs. Langjoen's father [Nils Svendsen Nygaard] was killed in the woods when a tree fell in the second winter he was here in the country [in the US; likely 1871]. The winter after [1872], his brother Even Sensen [Swensen or Svendsen] was killed similarly, near the same place."
