Iver Johnsen Johnson

Summary:

Iver Johnsen Johnson and his siblings are my 3rd cousins, twice removed. His maternal great-grandmother was Sigrud Jonsdatter Grue [1763-1824], and Sigrud's father was my 4th great grandfather, Jon Simensen Grue, 1729-1807. My family descends from this second marriage to Gjertrud Toresdtr Breen, 1740-1828, and this is why Iver and I would be considered 'half 3rd cousins'. Note that Iver's mother was Marit Iversdtr Prestlien and Marit's mother was Sigrud Jonsdatter Grue.

There is another family connection that I have with Iver Johnsen Johnson, although it is a bit complicated. Iver's mother was Marit Iversdatter Prestlien, and her sister Anne Beate Prestlien was married to Mikkel Nilsen Søndmør, 1812-1883, my 3rd great grand uncle. Mikkel was a brother to my 3rd great-grandmother Kirsti Nilsdtr Søndmør, 1795-1876. One of Kirsti's daughters was Olava Olsdtr Røstbakken [1823-1919], and Olava was my dad's paternal great grandmother.

I have not researched in any detail Iver or his siblings. Remember, that Iver's mother died young, but she had 5 children. After Marit died his father, John Engebretsen/Embretsen remarried. So Iver has a number of half-siblings.
