- father - Ole Paulsen Flatgard


2. Emigration ; 1868 ????

- can't find a record of leaving Tolga Parish 1865-1870 in either Ministerialbok or Klokkerbok - Thore and Ingeborg along with 2 children are recorded in Tolga in 1865 Norway Census with mother Ingeborg and her 2nd husband John Olsen

- the Illistrated History of Jackson Co, MN - recordes the family emigrate in 1868, first going to Fillmore Co, MN and then arriving at the farm/homestead at Belmont Twp, Jackson Co, MN in June 1869


3. Bureau of Land Management, US

- Thore O Fladguard; Twp 103N, Range 035 W; N½NW¼, Sec 14, 5th Meridian, Jackson Co, MN;
issued 20 Dec 1881 (homestead act)

- No record in Jackson Co for Ole T Flatgaard or Fladguard on BLM


4. ancestry.com Public Member Trees [ 30 Oct 2013 ]

- there are 13 Public Member Trees; however, only a few member Thore's parents and of those, has incorrectly recorded that his mother, Ingeborg Toresdtr was born in 1819 in Mykje, Avaldsnes, Rogaland, Norway -- no source provided.
- most of these trees record names of Thore's descendants - Thore and his wife Ingeborg had 9 kids and each of those had a number of kids

- [ 16 Dec 2013] --- however, one, 'McCcormack owner Mirmack' records ancestor with last log in over 1 yr ago - Tore Estensen Aashaug and Tore's mother as Anne Andersdatter Hulbackmo, but no birth/death date and no source citation; Records Ingeborg Toresdatter Aashaug death as 1885, but she is not recorded in Tolga i Tolga Klokkerbok, 1878-1919 for the years 1883-1887


- -- use, Halpin-Kloster Family Tree 'owner halpinclan' from Minnesota with last sign on in Sept 2013; use the second tree with 5 sources; search with Thore Olsen Flatgard, born 1838+- in Norway
;; note - this tree does have errors, but records of names of children etc, likely fairly accurate - Thore and his parents, etc with a surety level of '1', but for children a surety level of '2'



++ NOTE: there is a private member Tree that is not named, but by choosing Private Member Stories there is an ancestry member, Douglas Berry from Minnesota, contact DouglasBerry52, with last sign in 31 Oct 2013
- contains 3 articles, one a biography; a look at his profile, there are some photos and by clicking on them, it is pretty obvious that he has done some research and is documenting it; there is a family tree recorded (Alm-Barry-Hansen-Otterber), but Flatgaard is not a part of this segment of the tree

- recorded as Thomas Olsen, age 33, born in Norway
- Ingber, wife age 34
- Ole, age 9 born in Norway; Peter age 7 born in Norway; Andrew age 1 born in MN; Maria age 5 born in Norway

c. 1880 US Census - Belmont Twp, Jackson Co, MN; ancestry page 6 & 7 (not indexed)

- family # is unclear, possibly 137
- family surname as Oleson
- Tore is recorded as Torra, age 41 born in Norway; farmer
- Ingeborg is recorded as Isabella, age 44, born in Norway
- Ole, son age 17, born in Norway; Peter, son age 16 born in Nor;- Mary daughter age 13, born in Nor; note that the other children are all born in MN: Andrew son age 10; Edward age 8; John age 6; Julius age 4 (incorrectly recorded as daughter); and then on page 7, Ida A, daughter age 1

e. & f. 1900 & 1910 US - Belmont twp, Jackson Co, MN

- Thore etc
- in 1910 it appears that son Andrew has taken over the farm; Thore and Ingeborg are listed under the same dwelling/house (#10), but different household (#11)
