3. Bygebok for Os, p 52
Author of Bygebok quotes from a speech by Leiv Nutheim given at a birthday party for Per when he was 80 yrs old in 1933.
He has been [active] in everything and given advice and direction - both in the parish and politics (Per S Grue was for many years a member of municipal council], and youth activites and all good things. The national movement [?] was [always] difficult for him, but he had a strong instinct for [the needs] for the farmers. [ ???? He always react strongly against it ufolkelge and silly ???? ]. As a young man he came to Sagatun "folk high school". The [his] present outlook [became positive] as it had for many of the peasant boys. It is said that he was sharp and at the same time had welcoming to eyes when he was at Sagatun. I believe that the sharp eyes have [come from] his time in storms in the mountains when the mountain farmer must stare like a hawk to see the small glimpses that might mean [be between] recovery or flight. And the warmth in the eyes, he has from midday sun [?] that and sparkled in the white snow over Synner-Hogna in the winter time.
