- With the appraisal / valuation of 1728, Simen Mortensen was the owner of Hulbækdal and from this [?] its name was probably Simagaarden. Approximately in 1800, it was farmed by Anders [Anders Simensen, born 1780]: he left a daughter Beret and his widow was married again to Lars Knudsen with whom she had 2 daughters - Anne and Ingeborg .... A daughter of his first marriage Beret [ Berit Anderstr Hulbækdal ] married John Paulsen from Paulsgaard. They had 4 sons (Anders, Lars, Paul and John) and 1 daughter, Olava. Lars traveled to America in 1870. John, the youngest was a teacher. Olava married Nils Nilsen Bakken from Hodaien and they also traveled to America. Anders the eldest took over the farm after his father in 1888 and then gave/left half to his brother, Paul Johnsen and in the land register his farm was named Dalsgjelten. Anders [ Anders Jonsen Paulsgard ] died in 1892. He was married to Petronille Halstensdatter Lien; he left a son, Anders. His widow married in 1895 to John Olsen Perflatgard who died in 1904; he left [they had] a daughter.
