bullet  Research Notes:

1. Trysil-boka, page 561 ; no year recorded, but

- flyttet til Mørkret or Mörkret, Lima, Sweden [this is about 50-60 Kms east and south of Trysil (Lima, Malung, Sweden -- in Kopparberg ?; today ]
- married Margrete Halvardsdatter Tysk [ ???, see below ]

NOTE: his birth record records the given name 'Jon'

2. Sweden church records - no record of him in Lima parish, Kopparberg, Sweden

- conducting some further research in a familysearch.org family tree for Per Ottersen Skaaret (his father) there is the notation:
John Pedersen, death 24 Jun 1878, at "Svensk Gjørdalen"
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/LH56-QTG/changelog?conclusionType=DEATH

- no place name of Gjørdalen in Sweden, but looking at different spelling: the Swedish spelling, Gördalen is recorded in Särna parish, Kopparberg län -- Gördalen is just a bit north of the Norway-Sweden border, and north of the homeplace, Skåret. The distance between the two places is only about 12-15 kms.

AI:6b (1848-1868), Särna Parish; Gördalen, page 133
- Jon Persson, born 22 Nov 1838, Trysil, came from Trysil on 9 Sep 1862;
married 12 Jul 1863 to Margreta Jönsdotter, born 23 Feb 1837 at Gördalen; with 4 or 5 children recorded

- Jon Persson is recorded as as "Skåv or Skäv"; I'm not sure of the definition, but with using dictionaries the word is not listed' the word may be "Skav" coming from the old Swedish "skrapa", meaning a scraper, that is, to even out surfaces like roads, cellars, canals; somewhat like a plough ????

AI:7 (1870-1880), Särna Parish; Gördalen, page 179
- notes that Jon died 24 Jun 1878;
- number of children added to the family

- son, Per Jonsson moved to Los 30 Aug 1878

for subsequent records for the family see "events" recorded under Margreta Jönsdotter, but notes etc here

AI:8 (1881-1899), Särna Parish; Gördalen, page 257

- daughter Elin referenced going to page 127, farm/locality Särnabyn Prestgärden [likely in the town of Särna] in 1881, but no record of returning
- daughter Ingeborg referenced going to page 132, farm/locality Särnabyn Katarineberg [likely in the town of Särna] in 1884 and returning to Gördalen in 1890
- daughter Johanna also went to Särnabyn Katarineberg, but no record of returning
- daughter Inger Mathea, died, 13 Mar 1883
- fosterson, Per Jonsson moved back from Los on 7 Mar 1890; moving out records (B:1, 1845-1894, page 32

AII:1 (1899-1910), Särna Parish; Gördalen, page 236

- daughter, Thea Oline , married 24 Nov 1900 and reference to page 225 in 1901
- son Jon moved to Eda parish in Värmland län 17 Jan 1902 [moving out B:2, 1902, page 12; moving in to Eda parish in Värmland län on 21 Jan 1902 - moving in to Eda, B:6. 1895-1918, page 51 to Amot locality and in the Congregational records (AIIa:2, 1896-1905, page 688) -- here he is recorded as a Bokhållare [clerk] and then moving back to Särna parish on

3. Birth event, 22 Nov 1838

Trysilboka (page 361) records his birth as 29 Nov 1838. However, reviewing the birth/baptism record in the Norway Parish Records, the day is more likely the '22' although it is a bit difficult to make out. A birth date of '22 Nov" corresponds with other records (see Sweden Chruch Records).

4. Death, 24 Jun 1878, age 39

The Sweden Church Records, in the Husförhör book (AI:7, page 133), records Jon Persson's death. However he is not recorded in the Särna parish 'Död och Begrafnings Bok (Death and Burials) for the years 1877-1894. Jon Persson is recorded in the Norway Parish Registers *Ministerialbok, 1872-1895" for Trysil parish (Døde og begravede, page 81 line or number 34). In this record, Jon Persson's death is recorded as 24 Jun 1878 and his burial 4 Aug 1878 and
- on the column, 'opholdsted', meaning place of residence (or oppholt stayed at), it is recorded as "Svensk Gjørdalen", or Sweden Gördalen. Thus, it is most likely that he died at Gördalen, Särna parish, Kopparberg län, Sweden, but was buried in the Norway parish of Tyrsil. This record does not record a cause of death for Jon Persson.

NOTE: Per Jonsson, (Jon Persson's foster son) moved to Los - moving out of Gördalen for Los on 30 Aug 1878 [B:1, 1845-1894, image/page 23]. He is recorded as single and also as a "Skäv"
