- father's obit says that he leaves his son, Donn John, aged 14 - this would put his birth about 1929 (Feb or Jan)
HOWEVER, Donn John is not listed with the family in the 1930 US Census (1 April 1930)

Donn Olson Gives Recital
Sunday evening a group of musical friends gathered at Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minars' home for an informal piano recital by Donn Jon Olson, son of Mrs. A. H. Mueller (formerly Mrs. Oleen Olson) of Minneapols [Minneapolis], and an alumnus of Fergus high.
The recital consisted of numbers from the classical, romantic, and modern periods. Opening with two sonatas by Scarlatti, the young artist clearly demonstrated the sincere quality of his musicianship. In his Chopin group he delighted the pianists present with his fine finger desterity [dexterity]. That he is thoroughly at home in the modern idiom was clearly apparent in his performance of compositions by Creston and Copland. His closing selection, an exciting rhapsody based on the familiar Rakoczy March, left the listeners with the feeling that he will have no difficulty in captivating his audiences as he launches his concert career.
Donn has attended the University of Minnesota and Julliard school of music in New Rork [York] city. Recently he has been studying with Alfred Mirovitch, widely known concert pianist and teacher. He is scheduled for a Steinway Hall in New York this coming season and also has engagements in Pittsburgh and Connecticut. During the past month he presented a very successful recital in Minneapolis.
Music lovers of Fergus Falls will be pleased to know that Donn Olson will appear as soloist with the Fergus Falls Civic orchestra during the coming season.
