  Noted events in his life were:

1. Birth/death - 1940, 1940, Hennepin Co, Minnesota, United States. The MN Birth Index on Ancestry.com (collection, 1935-1995) records the birth of "baby boy Roan" on 3 Nov 1940 with the father as Chester R Roan and the mother as Anna Marie Roan. The MN Death Index (on Minnesota Historical Society website) records the name of "Carl John Roan" but does not make note of the parents. The US Evangelical Lutheran Church Records for St Luke Lutheran Church on Ancestry.com records the birth and burial of Carl John Roan, but does not record the name of parents. Carl John Roan's burial is posted on Findagrave at Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis, but this record links him to his parents, Orville (O) Morton Roan.

Two of the Ancestry Public Trees have conflicting information on the baby's parents. Avila Family Tree links him to Chester Roan (using the MN birth index on ancestry as a source). However, the Brunzell Family Tree links him to Morton Roan.

Additionally, Michael Mills Roan's (father Chester Roan) obituary in the Star Tribune (2 Mar 2014) notes that he was "....predeceased Chester Roan, Ann Mills Roan, and a baby brother." I have not found any other "baby Roan" born or died in 1940 on the Ancestry MN birth index or any other index.

Thus, I have recorded Carl John Roan as the son of Chester and Ann Roan, based on the MN Birth Index record and Michael Mills Roan obituary
