" The name "Grambo" first appears in Norway in 1709 when Nils Olsen Gram, a Finnlander who came from Sweden, bought a farm in Trysil and named it Grambo. The name comes from "Gram", the surname of the owner, plus "bo", meaning abode or estate. In 1761 the Grambo farm was sold to brothers Hans Person and Peder Pederson Saetre. As was customary in Norway they assumed the name of Grambo and stopped using Saetre when they moved to the property. Thus we believe that all Grambos world wide can trace their roots back to Trysil, Norway. In 1776 Hans sold his share of the Grambo farm to Peder. Peder Pederson Grambo (1739 - 1826) was married in 1762 to Kari Galaasen (1744 - 1820) ..."

- I'm not clear if this is related to Halvor Nordby who married Pernille Persdatter Skaaret b 1843 and emigrated to Washington State and some descendants from Port Townsend 2672
Peder married Marid Povelsdtr. (Marid Povelsdtr was born about 1741.)
