1. Grambo ..... history, page 169

- Petter Olsen was sent to his uncle Per Person in Los in 1869
- this entry includes a copy of a letter sent by Gertrude Pedersdatter Skaaret (Grambo) to Petter Olsen (born 1859)
- records that he died in Los (page 206)


BUT ... 21 Jan 2018

- I can not find him in the Los parish records
- I have Per Persen or Persén as arriving in 1873 at Los
- Torgal Persson Skaaret arrived in 1867, so maybe the above entry means he went to stay with Torgal ??,
- I can't find Petter Olsen Skaaret recorded living with Torgal or Per
- nor can I find him in the moving-in or the moving-out records for Los

However, Petter Olsen Skaaret is recorded in the moving-out records for Tyrsil Parish in the year 1874 but with a notation that he had left in 1869 for Loos in Hålingsland [ Trysil Minesterialbok (no 7), 1874-1880, image 294 no 25]
and, Petter Olsen Skaaret is recorded in the Trysil Minesterialbok, Death/burial records, [ above book, image 288 no 37 ] with death as 8 May 1880, buried 13 May, and funeral on 10 Oct 1880; on the left side above no 37, it is written, Lördalen

SO, location of death is not clear.


2. Facebook post, re; a photo unidentified?? [ Ingen anteckning. Ur samma bunt som - no notes, in same bundle as others with the "Skaaret's", but Olle Paulsson in Dec 2017, noted: "The picture represents Olav Skaaret, born in Trysil, Norway 1862."

BUT: Olav Nordström , clearly states the photo is NOT Olav Skaaret, born 1862

part of my post: ".... But there was another brother to Ole, Olaf, and Gurine Skaaret that lived in the Los area. His name was Petter Olsen Skaaret. He was 10 years old when he left his Skaaret homeplace, but he died in 1880 and is buried at Ljørdalen in Trysil. Olav Nordström: if you read this, look in your "Grambo... book". I have the English version of the book (page 169; along with a copy of a letter his mother had written him in 1869). In this book, it is said that Petter Olsen was sent at age 10 to live with his uncle, Per Persén (Skaaret). I have researched the Sweden Church books, but I can't find him recorded in Kyrkbyn, Grufbyn, Hiviåsen or Rulbo, nor did I find him in the 'moving-in or moving-out' records. So far, I have only found his death/burial record in the Trysil church books for 1880.
