Martin Mikkelson, son of Mikkel Pedersen / Peterson Narjord traveled to North America with his father and his step-mother, Johanna Olsdatter Narjord [my half-2nd cousin, three times removed]. They left Tolga parish in Norway on 10 May 1869, arriving at Quebec on 31 May 1869, and then traveled to Allamakee Co, IA to the area around Dorchester or what was also known as Waterloo Ridge.
Note that on the Tolga parish register, in-out migration: Name as Martin Mikkelsen Faset age 5 yrs and 4 months
Findagrave records his death as 20 June 1869. If this is accurate then he likely was or became sick while travelling. The Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church records do not records buirals and death until 1874. Martin is not recorded/indexed in the Ancestry collection, Iowa, U.S., Deaths and Burials, 1850-1990, or in the Ancestry Collection, Iowa, U.S., Cemetery Records, 1662-1999. He also is not recorded/indexed in the FamilySearch Collection, Iowa, U.S., Deaths and Burials, 1850-1990
