Amanda Wynona Domrude was born in 1906 to Oscar and Ericka Domrude (she is half Norwegian, half Swedish) and grew up as a beauty queen (have photos of her as a teen in pageant attire).
She married Nels Prestlien in 1922. Their son, Raymond Prestlien was born in 1923. Raymond was raised by his father Nels, and his grandfather Anders.

Following Anders' death, he was placed in boarding school as his father Nels was working in logging camps.
Not known his relationship with his mother during this time - presumed she did not have a relationship with him until his teenage years as he never lived with her as a child.
Letters that Raymond wrote to his father Nels in his time overseas during WWII, he mentions sending things to 'mother' and receiving letters from her. We do not know how close Raymond and his mother Amanda were at this point, but it is assumed they resumed contact in Raymond's early adult years, and communicated every once in a while, though they were never close.

She later remarried to become Amanda Madigan and died in 1949.

Wanda married Nels Prestlien, son of Anders Mikkelsen Prestlien and Asloug W Sjaaheim, on 13 Jul 1922 in Seattle, King Co, Washingon, United States. (Nels Prestlien was born in Sep 1898 in Lessor Twp, Polk Co, Minnesota, United States, died on 6 Feb 1995 in Placerville, El Dorado Co, California, United States and was buried in Zion (Peace) Lutheran Cemetery, Silvana, Snohomish Co, Washington, United States.)
