Research Notes:
Summary: Lotten Gunborg Eliason was born on 3 Mar 1907, Vilhelmina, Västerbotten, Sweden, and died 10 May 1990 in Penticton, BC, Canada.
Lotten Gunborg Eliason was a 1st cousin, once removed to my mother, Mary E Grue [nee Lofgren]. Lotten's father, Linus Eliasson, was a brother to my Mom's grandmother, Lisa Albertine Eliasdotter, 1865-1911 - Lisa had been married to Johan Nikolaus Näsland, 1863-1948. Lotten's early years were spent on a farm in Nästansjö.
Lotten married Einar Ingemar Adamson [1906-1942] on 20 May 1929 in Vilhelmina parish, Sweden. In July 1929, both Einar and Lotten left Nästansjö, Vilhelmina parish for Canada. I do not know where they first came to. Also I don't rememeber my Mom ever talking about Lotten. Lotten and Einar ended up living in the Alder Flats - Buck Lake in Alberta, about 50 kms west of Wetaskiwin, likely close to 20 years. It is possible that Mom did not know Lotten or that she lived less than 2 hours away. But, Elias Anderson [1889-1997] who farmed in the east Hay Lakes area, was a nephew of Linus Eliasson, Lotten's father. Elias Anderson and Lotten would have been 1st cousins. It seems improbable that Lotten never visited with Elias Anderson, either at his farm or at her farm in Alder Flats. Lotten was also a 1st cousin with Sven Eliason, born in 1904, who also farmed in the Hay Lakes area.
Lotten and Einar likely had 4 children, 3 male and 1 female. However, I have not found a birth record for any of the children. It appears all of the children grew up in the Alder Flats/Buck Lake area. Einar died in 1942. Sometime after this, Lotten married Robert Gunnar Karlsson [1901-1953]. It is likely that they were married in Alberta, but I have not found evidence of this. I believe that they had one son, likely born in Alberta.
Around 1947-48, Lotten and Robert Carlson moved to Penticton, BC. Robert died in 1953 in Penticton - I did find a brief obituary confirming that he was married to Lotten - the obituary named the children. Sometime after Robert died, Lotten married again to Alfred Jorgenson. I have not found a marriage record or any information on Alfred Jorgenson.
Lotten continued to live in Penticton. She died in 1990. There is a grave marker next to her second husband, Robert Carlson.
