Kristian Iversen Dalheim
- Born: 11 Sep 1906, Os, Togla, Hedmark, Norway 9689
- Marriage (1): Mary Bell Cram on 3 Dec 1935 in Edgerton, Alberta, Canada
- Died: 3 Jan 1991, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at age 84

Research Notes:
Relationship: my Dad, Oliver T Grue (1915-1992) and Kristian Iversen Dalheim (1905-1991) were 3rd cousins
- Berit Sofie Mikkelsdatter Midtal was my dad's great grandmother, 1832-1899 [she married Lars Syl Mikkelsen, 1830-1922]; Berit Sofie's father was Mikkel Larsen Midtdal [1793-1877]. Berit Sofie's brother was Mikkel Mikkelsen Midtdal [1840-1895] - this Mikkel Mikkelsen was Kristian Iversen Dalheim's great grandfather.
There is another or second relationship line: Kristian's grandmother was Sigrid Thoresdatter Grue [1824-1901]. Sigrid was a sister to my dad's grandfather, Simen Thoresen Grue [1823-1903]. See Kristian's folder for the relationship chart PDF. [as of 3 Mar 2023 - all of Kristian Dalheim folder information is located ... 32 GB new Scandisk flash drive - Grue FT ... Thore J Grue ... Sigrid Thoresdatter Grue b 1824 ..... .... Also the 3 PDF's have been copied to "Z - New Folder" and thus to google drive ]
I do not recall anybody in the "Grue or Mikkelsen" family mentioning a family relationship with Kristian Dalheim. I don't recall my dad ever mentioning a relationship to a family who were living in the Onoway area, even though the distance is only about 140 kms.
I only came to realise this relationship when I was reviewing the family of Kristen Mikkelsen Midtdal (b 1857) using John Midtdal's book, Tufsingdalen ... farms and families, in Nov 2022
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have obtained copies of the family submissions to two different local history books in the Onoway area. Both submission's seem to be very similiar, and likely were submitted by Kristian's wife, Mary. The following is a brief summary:
- born in Os, 11 Sep 1906; eldest son of Iver Dalheim and Sigrid (Broen) Dalheim. - his parents had a dairy in Vingelen [parish - west of town of Tolga] - had joined the merchant marines [in Norway] before 1927; heard about land in Canada [although few homesteads still available in 1927 in central/south Alberta or Saskatchewan] - arrived at Halifax on 8 May 1927; first jot was at Shellbrook, SK [60+ kms west of Prince Albert], and later at Edgerton - met his wife Mary Cram; they married about 1935. first son born at Edgerton - 1939 moved to Winfield, AB and Kris worked and then had money to build a carpenter shop - in the spring of 1942, Kris was called into the Norwegian forces [during WW 2] - he was not a Canadian naturalized citizen; trained at Lunenburg, NS; later he sent to Scotland and in Mar 1945 to Murmansk, Russia [northwestern Russia, about 100+ kms east of the far northern part of Norway]; then hiked into northern Norway; he was part of the Royal Norweigina Mechanical Engineers [he would have been a part of the liberation of Norway]; discharged as a Staff Sergeant - after the war, they lived in Edmonton, and then to Edgerton - in Nov 1953 moved to Noyes Crossing [around 8+ kms east of Onoway; Onoway is about 50 kms south of Barrhead; about 65 kms west and a bit north of Edmonton [Onoway 2016 population about 1,000] - bought land, SW¼, Sec 10, twp, 55, range 1, W5th - along current highway 37 east of Onoway; southern part of this quarter is treed and boarders a creek or maybe the Sturgeon River]. Around 1969, sold the southern part of their land - 1978 "in retirement years" and records children and a little bit about each.

They had a son, Iver Oliversen Dalheim, b 24 Dec 1880, died 15 Jun 1958. married, 27 May 1906 to Sigrid Marie, b 26 Feb 1884, died 14 May 1957 [Sigrid Marie was the daugther of Kristen Mikkelsen Midtdal, 1857-1947; see John Midtdal's book, Tufsingdalen ....; the above FT DOES not record Iver Oliversen's mother (that is Sigrid Marie ...)

Tolga, [1894-1925], b 11 Sep 1905, bap 30 Sept 1906; parents ... residence, Broen **** Unfortunately, the above birth record is from Ancestry's grouping of Norway church records, and this grouping does not correspond the actual Norway Church recordsfrom the Digital Archive at the The National Archives of Norway. ..... So, the accurate citiation for Kristian's birth must be on from the actual record, not Ancestry Collection .......... Thus, Hedmark - Narbuvoll local parish ... Note: there are a few Ancestry Family Trees [FTs], but none provide a lot of additional information. The above FT is likely as much as there is available. It appears that Kristian Iversen Dalheim's father was a farm owner at Dalheim in Vingelen parish [this is only about 10 kms west of Tolga. The John Midtdal book, Tufsingdalen .... has more information and likely more accurate information on Kristian's parents and siblings. 9690
